Hattie’s 12th Annual Mardi Gras benefiting the NYC Ballet at SPAC this Saturday

The Tattlers have had a nice long holiday season off, and a busy one! Robin Dalton welcomed beautiful baby Alice into the world and both Tattlers enjoyed a little break. This Saturday however, we are BACK and we couldn’t have picked a better event to come back to! It’s the 12th Annual Hattie’s Mardi Gras Soiree at Canfield Casino kicking off at 6pm, and this year the event will benefit the NYC Ballet at SPAC. This fab event is always firmly planted on our must attend list, and trust us, it never disappoints.

You know that coming from Beth and Jasper Alexander it is guaranteed to be a good time! They both started the Mardi Gras fundrasier in 2001 as a way to support local nonprofits and the annual Mardi Gras event has raised over $250,000 for various charities since then including Shelters of Saratoga, Saratoga YMCA, Saratoga Hospital and Saratoga Sponsor a Scholar. The evening includes specialty cocktails, incredible New Orleans gourmet food by Jasper and his amazing crew from Hattie’s, fantastic live music by Saratoga favorite Garland Nelson and Soul Session, Mardi Gras Beads, masks and a fully stocked Silent Auction. Don’t miss getting your photo snapped with friends at the photobooth by Heather Bohm-Tallman, always such a fun part of the evening! One of the highlights of the event will be a gallery display of stunning, original Karinska ballet costumes from New York City Ballet which we simply cannot wait to check out. There will be eight ballet costumes generously loaned from NYCB’s collections, including an “Emeralds” principal costume from “Jewels.” The rich, bejeweled green silks of “Emeralds,” “Rubies” and “Diamonds” were considered the most decadent and glittering explosion to take NYCB’s stage.

Perhaps the biggest thrill of the night however will be the chance to win a brand new car courtesy of New Country Motor Car for a mere $20 raffle ticket! The incredibly generous folks from New Country Motor Car have given the gift this year of the first ever raffle for a brand new car! Anyone can enter to win the brand new Toyota Prius with a 2-year lease, which includes 2 years of maintenance.  See details below:

  • 2 year lease of a Brand new Toyota Prius
  • 2 years of maintenance
  • Must be 18 years old to enter
  • Must have your own car insurance
  • Raffle tickets are only $20
  • Raffle tickets can be purchased here and will also be sold at the event

We chatted with Beth Alexander this week, ahead of the big night. “I’m thrilled for this year’s Mardi Gras benefiting New York City Ballet’s Summer residency at SPAC as it looks like we may hit 400 attendees…it’s a record! I can’t wait to see the beautiful costumes from New York City Ballet on display and what magic Michael Panza and Fine Affairs has in store for us with the decor they are donating..it’s always amazing. Garland Nelson and Soul session always rock the house…so bring your dancing shoes (no pun intended)!”

The Tattlers will absolutely have our dancing shoes on for Saturday. We just adore having the New York City Ballet make their summer home here at SPAC, and can’t wait to come out and show support. Tickets for the event are still available and can be purchased by calling Linda Passaretti at 584-9330, ext. 122 or clicking right here. Wearing Mardi Gras masks will give us a run for our money, but we’ll still spot you there…
